Tsai Ming-liang film festival
A poetic journey through time, place and memory.
Temporal Landscape celebrates the visionary short films of Tsai Ming-liang.

Temporal Landscape presents five curated screenings honouring the acclaimed director Tsai Ming-liang. His short films explore the feeling of unhomeliness, tracing lives shaped by movement, distance and belonging across Asia. Known for his meditative long takes and profound sense of stillness, Tsai’s work invites us to experience cinema as a space of reflection and connection. Screenings take place at HOME and SODA cinemas from 6 to 15 November, including a special in-conversation with Tsai Ming-liang and Prof. Andy Willis, interpreted by Clare Liu.
Tsai Ming Liang was born in Malaysia in 1957, Tsai Ming-Liang premiered his debut feature, Rebels of the Neon God, at the Berlinale in 1992. His sophomore film, Vive L’ amour (1994), won the Golden Lion award at the Venice Film Festival while The River (1996) won the Jury Award at Berlin, thus solidifying his status as a major filmmaker.
